Jose Zuleta Ortiz

Category: Fiction
Synopsis:

During a holiday trip to Lisbon, José receives the tragic news of his mother’s death. Several memories come to his mind, including the day when he was three and he and his siblings were taken to the house of Margarita, an elderly seamstress who had a bridal store. He also remembers the day, twenty-four years later, when his mother called him to restart their relationship.

Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali are the cities that witness the childhood and adolescence of José, his father’s second marriage with a seventeenyear- old girl, his first days of school, and his crushes on a teacher and Catalina, his first real love.

José’s desire to see his mother again is frustrated by his father, who says she is gone forever. When José is about to abandon all hope of ever seeing his mother María del Rosario again, she calls him and tells him about her disease. She would like to see him and talk to him, even if it’s only to say farewell and apologize for her absence from his life.

Will José agree to invite someone he barely knows back into his life?
